PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To horizontally take out tissue which is folded double and housed in a box while unfolding it without separating a pair of sheets of the tissue from each other, to easily take out the next tissue by projecting it from a take-out port after taking out the former tissue, and to vertically arrange a tissue housing box. SOLUTION: In the tissue housing box 10, the tissue T is housed in the state that each sheet of it or each pair of two superposed sheets of it is folded at a line dividing its width into two. A large number of sheets or a large number of pairs are piled so that their folding lines face alternately opposite sides. They are piled up by combining vertically adjacent ones in the state of being inserted to each other. The tissue housing box 10 is made of paper, and a cut-off line 15 for forming the take-out port 15d of the tissue T is formed in the state of perforation and as a slotted hole along the side edge 11a of one side of a top plate 11 across the top plate 11 and the side plate 13 of one side.
