A system for processing a work piece (10) comprises a laser jet mechanism having a laser (30) and a fluid source (28). The laser (30) is constructed and arranged to transmit laser energy (22) to the work piece (10) and the fluid source (28) is constructed and arranged to direct a fluid stream (23) to the work piece. The laser energy (22) is transmitted to the work piece (10) through the fluid stream (23). The fluid stream (23) comprises at least one processing solution selected from the group consisting of: at least one etchant, at least one abrasive, at least one polish, at least one cleaner, at least one detergent and any combination thereof. The fluid stream (23) optionally comprises water.
