GROOVED SHOE PRESS BELT WITH CONICAL REBATES

A shoe press belt (1) having formed on an outer surface a plurality of parallel machine direction grooves (3). Each groove (3) has formed therein a plurality of conical rebates (2). The rebates(2) are spaced along each groov e (3) with centers coincident with the groove (3) center line. The positions o f the rebates (2) are stepped diagonally across adjacent parallel grooves (3).
