<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restart a vehicle without causing hindrance even when unexpected slide occurs on a belt of a belt type transmission mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: This idle stop device stops idling of an engine 1 for driving running of a vehicle automatically when predetermined idle stop conditions are satisfied and restarts the engine 1 automatically when predetermined restart conditions are satisfied by a motor 3 driven by and connected with the engine 1 through the belt type transmission mechanism 2 always. The device is provided with a belt slide inference means 4 during operation for inferring that unexpected slide occurs on the belt of the belt type transmission mechanism 2 based on deviation between the number of revolutions of the engine 1 and the number of revolutions of the motor 3 during steady operation of the engine 1 and an idle stop inhibit means 5 for inhibiting automatic idling stop of the engine 1 after that. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
