<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of the image to be displayed by reducing the overshoot and undershoot generated by a change in the number of selected elements. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device has a plurality of scanning electrodes and a plurality of data electrodes and thin-film display elements driven by electric current at their intersections and forms the image by driving the thin-film display elements by supplying a display signal to the data electrodes in synchronization with the sequential selection of the scanning electrodes.
