<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input element and a touchpad input method that improves input stability and input accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The input element 26 is provided for a computer 10 and used for an input to a touchpad 18 sensitive to a change in capacitance. The input element 26 includes a conductive pad contact part 30 designed for surface contact with the touchpad 18, and the pad contact part 30 is pivotally coupled to a grip part 28 so that a contact surface 30b is in continuous contact with the surface of the touchpad 18.
