PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recording method in which incremental recording mode out of data recording methods for an optical disk is adapted to minimal blank disk. SOLUTION: This data recording method is an incremental recording method by which data are recorded partially in an optical disk. And the method comprises (a) steps 201, 202 in which it is decided whether the optical disk is formatted or not, and data are recorded in the optical disk being not formatted, (b) steps 203, 204 in which after recording the data, disk state information is confirmed in a recording control region in which disk information is recorded, and (c) steps 205, 206 in which as the result of confirming the disk state information, when the optical disk is confirmed as a specific blank disk in which data are erased from the recording control region to a read-in region, recorded data from an address with which the next data are recorded to a fixed block are erased.
