PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a user perform combination editing easily by solving the alignment problem of a sector boundary and a transport packet boundary when the user edits MPEG transport data on a disk recording medium. SOLUTION: In creating a file FILE0003 newly by combining a file FILE0002 behind a file FILE0001 on the disk recording medium, a common boundary position where satisfies both a sector boundary and a transport stream packet boundary existing forward of the effective end of the AV data packet of the file FILE0001 is calculated. Moreover, the file system information for managing the file FILE0003 is made to be from the starting position of the file FILE0001 to the common boundary position and from the starting position of the file FILE0002 to the end position.
