PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To crush an empty can economically without fail with an improved device requiring a small force and a simple operation, which used to require unexpectedly large force in crushing the can because of a large rigidity inherent in a seamed part that is a joining portion between a can body and a can lid. SOLUTION: The can crushing device is capable of finishing the can crushing process composed of two separate steps by one operation. The center portion of the can body is crushed in a first step, and the remaining both end parts (adjacent to the can lid and the bottom end) are crushed in the next step so that the deformation resistance of the can material becomes small.
