A light-transmission unit contains the light-transmitting and receiving elements, and light-transmission and reception lenses. The light-shielding plates (41,42) with light-passing through window of preset shape, are respectively interposed between the transmitting element and transmission lens, and receiving element and reception lens. The opening of the light passing through windows is formed by laser processing. An independent claim is also included for photoelectric sensor manufacturing method.
