The drive unit (10) has a steam generator (16) coupled to a thermodynamic expansion machine (18) and a condenser (20) receiving the steam from latter, an electrical machine (26) coupled to the drive unit used as a generator for charging a battery (34). The drive unit has thermic rev regulation with an additional torque provided by the electrical machine and the battery, for maintaining the drive unit revs upon switching in of a driven pump (27) or compressor (28).
