The invention relates to substituted 4-, 6- or 7-hydroxyindoles having N-oxi de groups of formula (I), a method for the production thereof, pharmaceutical preparations comprising said compounds and the pharmaceutical use of said compounds which are inhibitors of phosphodiesterase 4, as active substances in the treatment of diseases which can be influenced by said inventive compound s by means of an inhibition of phosphodiesterase 4 activity, especially in immunocompetent cells (for example, macrophages and lymphocytes).
