PURPOSE: To provide a color image forming device capable of forming a high- quality color image by shortening the time when an image non-forming section on an image carrier is opposed to a developing device and preventing the contamination of the image carrier and a transfer body by toner. CONSTITUTION: In this color image forming device, the toner images of respective color components are successively formed on the image carrier while exchanging the developing device, and also the toner images are repeatedly transferred on a recording sheet held by a transfer drum, so that the color image is formed. The developing device is retreated from a developing position just after finishing forming the toner image in the midst of one rotation cycle of the transfer body, and the next developing device is set to the developing position just before starting forming the toner image in the midst of one rotation cycle of the next transfer body. |
