PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retainer clip for a connector capable of simply fixing the connector to an object such as a panel with a compact structure, and of surely preventing undesirable separation from the connector. SOLUTION: Tapers T1, T2 and T3 for self-alignment are respectively formed at a lock projection 4b of this retainer clip 4, respective lock pieces 4c, tips of respective lock projections 4d, and a lock projection engaging hole 1c2 and respective lock piece hooking parts 1c3 of a lock piece 1c of a receptacle connector 1, and respective lock projection contact parts 1d2 of a lock piece 1d thereof. In a state (C) or (E) where the receptacle connector is tentatively mounted to a panel 3 (C) and (E), when the retainer clip is slightly slid rightward, it is brought into a fixed (locked) state (D) or (F).
