PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful and adequate handling part which is not a simple through hole and a peripheral structure thereof in a folding plate of a folding container. SOLUTION: A folding container comprises a rectangular upper frame 1, a bottom plate 2, two gate plates 3 facing each other, and two folding plates 5 facing each other. Each of the folding plates 5 is formed by turnably connecting a horizontally long upper plate 6 to a horizontally long lower plate 7 at a connection part 8. A handle rib 64 extending in the transverse direction is protruded on an outer surface of the long upper plate 6 at the position separate from an upper end of the long upper plate by a predetermined distance in the longitudinal direction. Protrusion (h) of the handle rib 64 is set so as not to exceed the outer dimensions of the container when assembled which are regulated by the upper frame 1 and the bottom plate 2, and so as not to cause the mutual interference of the handle rib 64 with the long lower plate 7 to inhibit the folding operation when the folding plate 5 is folded.
