PRINTER DRIVER, IMAGE FORMING DEVICE, AND IMAGE DATA PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the output processing time of a printer by reducing data quantity to be transmitted from a host computer to the printer at the time of printing.

SOLUTION: The printer driver for transmitting print control information to an image forming device comprises a data division means 5 for dividing bit map data of an image to a plurality of blocks for every predetermined number of lines; a data compression means 6 for multi-dimensionally compressing data of all the remaining lines except the data of the top line; a valid block determination means 7 for determining whether or not at least a part of the blocks is present in a predetermined valid printing area; and a data transmitting means 8 for transmitting the data of the block determined to be present in the valid printing area to the image forming device.
