<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell operation method, and a fuel cell using it, capable of deciding whether hydrogen purge is necessary through judgment of precise current voltage characteristics in a short time with a simple device structure. <P>SOLUTION: A threshold voltage is found from standard current voltage characteristics that is a relation between an output current value and an output voltage value set for each fuel cell, and purge is carried out by rapidly increasing a flow volume of fuel gas when the output voltage of the fuel cell falls below the threshold voltage. Further, after the purge of the fuel gas, the threshold value is reset at a voltage lower than the maximum voltage after the purge of the fuel gas made just before, and next hydrogen purge is carried out with reflection of power generating efficiency recovered after the hydrogen purge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
