PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift control system capable of surely fixing shift position. SOLUTION: In this shift control system, an actuator is rotated to bring a wall of a detent plate in contact with a roller of a detent spring, and wall position of the detent plate is detected by detecting the described contact position. After fixing the wall position, in order to eliminate the deflecting or drawing condition of the detent spring due to an abutment thereof on the wall of the detent plate, the actuator is driven in a direction opposite to the wall to a position at the predetermined distance from the wall position on this side.
