PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that insulating oil and water evaporate, and oil drops or water-containing oil drops coagulate on the internal surface of the cap of a tank and drop onto the winding of a transformer due to the heat generated from the transformer during operation. SOLUTION: In the transformer, a hygroscopic material which quickly absorbs water drops or oil drops is stuck to the whole or partial internal surface of the cap of the tank, or an oil drop receiver which has a return for receiving water drops or oil drops flowing along the curve of the cap is provided on the whole circumference of the cap near the flat section of the cap for preventing the water drops or oil drops from coagulating on the internal surface of the cap of the tank, growing, and dropping into the insulating oil containing the coil.
