PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflector that can maintain optical characteristics without damaging a dielectric multilayer film even by heat radiated from a light source, that is, compact has heat resistance together with heat resistant shock resistance and also has a metallic base body coated with the dielectric multilayer film. SOLUTION: The metallic reflector is provided with a 1st layer consisting of silica oxide containing a metallic oxide of the same sort as a metal of the base body and formed on the reflection face side surface of an approximately cup-like reflector consisting of the metallic base body, a 2nd layer formed on the 1st layer and consisting of a silica glass lining layer, and a 3rd layer laminated on the 2nd layer and consisting of a dielectric multilayer film.
