PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic waste treatment method, an organic waste treating apparatus and a base material for decomposing treatment of organic waste which realize elimination of an adverse effect onto waste treatment due to oil contained in the organic waste and proper decomposing treatment of the organic waste. SOLUTION: In the method or the apparatus for decomposing treatment of the organic waste housed in a treating tank 10 by using the base material containing microorganisms, the base material 11 containing an oil absorbent 11a subjected to water-repellent treatment is used as the base material and oil contained in the organic waste is adsorbed onto the oil absorbent and then the oil absorbent on which the oil is adsorbed is discharged from the treating tank 10.
