PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide female terminal fittings for ensuring a good contact with a tab. SOLUTION: A contact protrusion 16 is set in protrusion on the surface side of an elastic contact piece 15, enabled to be in elastic contact with the tab 30. The contact protrusion 16 formed in a rising gradient in an insertion direction of the tab 30, with its tiptop making a contact part 16A capable of contacting with the tab 30 in a fully inserted state. In a region from the contact part 16A forward of the contact protrusion 16, a flat part 16B is formed capable of contacting with the tab 30 at the beginning of hitting it. The tab 30 comes in line contact with the flat part 16B in a width direction at the beginning of contact with the contact protrusion 16, so that an insertion posture is stabilized and an insertion feeling is improved, and on the other hand, comes in point contact with the contact part 16A at completion of the insertion, so that contact becomes clear enabling a stable connection.
