PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glossy black baffle having a glossy black surface as the inner surface of a baffle for an optical appliance used to shut off obstructive light and to provide a high-performance glossy black baffle which decreases stray light caused by reflection on the knife edge of a vane as the main cause of the stray light. SOLUTION: Vanes are unevenly arranged in the periphery of the visual field of an optical appliance so as to make use of the characteristics of the glossy black surface having specular reflection, and the vane is formed into a rectangle the knife edge of which is easily processed so as to decrease the knife edge. Further, the baffle is made into a specific form different from conventional single stage baffle or a double-stage baffle so as to decrease stray light by reflection on the knife edge or other stray light and to improve the performance of the glossy black baffle.
