The invention relates to a fan comprising an air conveying channel (16) and a fan impeller (22) disposed therein which can be rotated about a center axis (25) and which has a center hub (20; 120) with an outer circumference (27) on which fan blades (26) are mounted. Said blades extend with their radially outer edges (40) to a surface (17) which is substantially coaxial to the center axis (25) and which limits the air conveying channel (16) towards the exterior. The blades (26) have a profile similar to that of airfoils. A flow element (42) is provided along the radial outer edge (40) of a fan blade. Said flow element is configured as a flow obstacle for a compensating flow that runs across said radial outer edge (40) from the pressure to the suction side and that has, from the cross-sectional perspective, also an airfoil profile. In the area of the leading edge (28) and the trailing edge (36) of a blade (26), the flow obstacle has essentially the same contour as the adjoining blade (26), and in a center area (48) between the leading edge and the trailing edge it is wider than the adjoining part of the blade (26) by a constant value. |
