The production procedure involves arranging spray tubes (9) between the strewing stations (10-12) so that water vapor can be sprayed on the top side of each layer (L1-L3) of a multilayer mat (M). The sprayed water vapor improves dampness inside the multilayer mat, and improves steam distribution within the mat when the mat arrives in the press. An independent claim is also included for a system for producing particle boards.
