<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-printer which cools each thermal head to fully reduce a temperature difference among thermal heads of a plurality of printing units, and to provide a cooling method for the multi-printer. <P>SOLUTION: The first-third thermal heads 25-27 are formed of aluminum or the like material. Heat radiation is carried out by coupling the first-third thermal heads 25-27 by a common heat sink 28 with a radiating fin. Moreover, a first-a third temperature sensors 35-37 are set at the first-third thermal heads 25-27, respectively. A first-third fans 31-33 are set at positions corresponding to the first-third thermal heads 25-27 at the radiating fin side of the heat sink 28, respectively. Each of the first-third fans 31-33 is independently controlled by a system controller 16, blowing the air to a part of the heat sink 28 corresponding to the thermal head to be cooled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
