USE SYSTEM FOR RAILROAD IC CARD AND USE METHOD FOR RAILROAD IC CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the use of even an ID number of an old railroad IC card used heretofore even if the ID number is updated by acquisition of a new railroad IC card.

SOLUTION: When an automatic ticket vending machine 13 vending a railroad IC card is version-upgraded, the new railroad IC card 12 is issued when inserting the current railroad IC card 11 used heretofore into the automatic ticket vending machine 13. At that time, an IC chip 12a of the new railroad IC card 12 is recorded with a new ID number, while a current ID number recorded in an IC chip 11a of the current railroad IC card 11 is recorded as the old ID number. When inserting the new railroad IC card 12 into a card reader 14, the old ID number recorded in a host computer is automatically updated to the new ID number. Therefore, the new railroad IC card 12 can be used in a railroad facility, and can be used even in a building entry/exit system performed with registration as the old ID number.
