PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera and an image information management method capable of easily enhancing a job efficiency of a processing using part of many image information items. SOLUTION: A CPU 40 acquires photographing object information (digital image data of a representative image) denoting a photographing object to a memory card 52 when obtaining image information denoting an object image via a CCD 24, and cross-references photographing object information particularizing information (file name) to particularize the photographing object information to image information particularizing information (file name) to particularize the image information and stores the result to the memory card 52 as an index file.
