PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of a conventional camera image processing apparatus that requires a camera memory with a capacity of one frame or over and reservation of a large capacity area, needs an exclusive memory in the case of employing a CODEC engine to carry out image compression, and cannot efficiently transfer data because of the occurrence of a delay of two clocks or over in the case of reading the data from the camera memory. SOLUTION: The camera image processing apparatus disclosed herein includes: control sections 3, 4 for dividing a camera photographing image into blocks, using a camera memory 5 of a capacity of one frame or below for a relay memory, and transferring the blocks; control sections 7, 8 for reading data from the memory 5 in advance in the case of data transfer and making the data transferable when receiving a transfer request to a display memory 11; and a circuit section 14 for using the memory 5 for a memory for a CODEC engine.
