PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire low in road noise, low at a flat spot, with a belt reinforced layer and a belt never making contact with each other and improved in high speed durability. SOLUTION: This pneumatic radial tire is furnished with the belt reinforced layer on the outside in the radial direction of the belt, the belt reinforced layer is formed by continuously and spirally winding a composite cord intertwining a highly elastic filament and a lowly elastic filament in the tire circumferential direction and the composite cord constitutes its characteristic feature that inclination G(60) of a tangent line at a point corresponding to a load measured at 60°C-a load of an elongation curve 29.4 N is more than 19.6 N/% and a ratio G(170)/G(60) of the inclination G(60) of the tangent line at 60°C and inclination G(170) of the tangent line at 170°C is 0.5-0.8.
