PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil and a coil assembly which is less influenced by leakage flux and is reduced in size. SOLUTION: The coil 10 essentially has the shape of a cylinder, and has a prescribed concave portion formed along the inner circumference of the cylinder in part of the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder. The coil 10 is also equipped with a bush member 12 which is formed of an insulating material and essentially has the shape of a cylinder and is fitted into the concave portion. The rest of the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder which constitutes the coil and the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder which constitutes the bush member are formed essentially flush with each other.
