PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a shaft sealing device capable of preventing the adhesion of a foreign matter to a mechanical seal with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This shaft sealing device 10 wherein the non-contact type mechanical seal 20 and a labyrinth seal 30 located between the mechanical seal 20 and an internal area A, are mounted on a rotation driving shaft 11 of a fluid compressor, is provided with an internal gas discharge port 44 opened near the labyrinth seal 30 for discharging the internal gas G in the fluid compressor (internal area A) to the outside, and an opening and closing means 52 for opening and closing the internal gas discharge port 44.
