PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust system of a V-type engine capable of suppressing the back pressure of the junction of two front exhaust pipes, and maintaining a catalyst activating temperature of exhaust gas. SOLUTION: In the exhaust system, the junction of the first and the second front exhaust pipes is placed at a minimum of 800mm from a first exhaust manifold. A mutual coupling angle is set within 20°, and the coupling angle of the first and the second pipes to a center exhaust pipe is set within 60°. A main heat protector is provided on the center exhaust pipe, and a sub heat protector is provided on the second front exhaust pipe. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
