PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method for a drive unit of a vehicle capable of comfortably compensating required torque quantity of auxiliary equipment. SOLUTION: In the driving method, loss torque under coast operation and driving operation of the drive unit is steadily compensated. The steady compensation under coast operation is weighted by a first weighting coefficient, and the first weighting coefficient is increased linearly until the driving operation is reached in association with a decrease in the magnitude of drag torque.
