PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition, which gives fine touch and spreading property to skin when it is applied, fine feeling while washing and after washing, fine feeling without stickiness and excellent conditioning effect after drying while showing high foaming property. SOLUTION: The detergent composition contains following components, (A) and (B). The component (A) is a thickening agent comprising a cationic group-containing copolymer prepared by radical polymerization and composed of the following essential components monomers: at least one kind of nonionic group-containing vinyl monomer expressed by formula (I) or formula (II); at least one kind of cationic group-containing vinyl monomer expressed by formula (III) or (IV) and at least one kind of cross-linkable vinyl monomer having in a molecule not less than 2 groups selected from a vinyl group, an acryloyl group, a methacryloyl group and an aryl group.
