PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily check if a separation device is released by improving a separation device of a gunpowder technology for shut off a car battery, wherein a conductive rail 2 having electric conductivity is disposed in a casing 4, the rail 2 is cut at a separation site 1 by a separation bit 6 driven by a gunpowder technology propellant, the rail 2 is clamped by a latch 5 inserted in the casing 4 oppositely to the bit 6, a receiving chamber 15 is formed in the region of the site 1 within the latch 5, the bit 5 is made to bend the region of the rail 2 separated by the bit, and the latch 5 constitutes the outer face of the casing 4.
