PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sun shade apparatus for effectively preventing an opening/closing lid, designed for opening/closing an outlet for withdrawing a light shielding screen, from opening unexpectedly. SOLUTION: The sun shade apparatus 1 comprises the light shielding screen 2 for shielding light in the window of a vehicle, and a storing case 3 for storing the light shielding screen 2. In the storing case 3, the outlet 12 for withdrawing the light shielding screen 2 is provided, and the opening/closing lid 13 for opening/closing the outlet 12 is mounted. While the light shielding screen 2 is being stored in the storing case 3, a locking mechanism for fixing the opening/closing lid 3 to a closing position is provided.
