PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron-base flocculant capable of keeping a turbidity removing capacity for a neutral pH region, which is used in usual water treatment, even in an acidic region advantageous in the removal of organic matter and having an excellent flocculation capacity. SOLUTION: The iron-base flocculant contains polyferric chloride, of which the average fractionation molecular weight by an ultrafiltration membrane is 500 or above and which contains iron in its molecule in an amount of 20 wt.% or above with respect to the total iron, and can keep a good turbidity removing capacity even in the acidic region and is excellent in the removing capacity of organic matter in a liquid to be treated.
