PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a treatment method for a garbage put out from a general home and a restaurant is only a treatment method in which it is burned at a garbage burning station conventionally and increase of an amount of garbage becomes a large social problem. SOLUTION: The sorter according to specific gravity of garbage has a bucket-like main water passage 2 capable of flowing down garbage mixed water Q; a first auxiliary water passage 3 for receiving light specific gravity garbage mixed water Q1 overflowing from the main water passage 2; and a second auxiliary water passage 4 for receiving heavy specific gravity garbage mixed water Q2 flowing out from a discharge hole 24 formed on a bottom part of the main water passage 2 at a predetermined downstream area of the main water passage 2. The main water passage 2 is installed to a helical shape having a plurality of vertical stages and a water feed plug 5 for feeding water into the main water passage 2 is provided. Separation devices 12, 13, 14 for separating the garbage component in respective garbage mixed water are provided at respective exits of the main water passage 2, the first auxiliary water passage 3 and the second auxiliary water passage 4. Thereby, the garbage can be sorted to the garbage components according to specific gravity only by feeding the garbage with water from a throwing port of the main water passage 2.
