PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preserving a granule containing an independently nutritional denitrification microorganism, with which the granule is preserved without lowering activity of ANAMMOX granule even in the case of a large amount of the ANAMMOX granule and causing problems such as an increase in environmental loading in a reuse and in an excellent state with a controlled storage volume. SOLUTION: The method for preserving the granule containing an independently nutritional denitrification microorganism comprises dehydrating the granule, preserving the granule in a moisture retaining state in a vapor phase without drying. The granule is preserved without lowering its activity even in the case of a large amount of the ANAMMOX granule and causing the problems such as an increase in environmental loading in a reuse and in an excellent state with a controlled storage volume by the method.
