Nutritional compositions are described which are suitable for enteral administration, comprising carbohydrates and/or fats and/or proteinaceous material, characterised in that it contains material derived from one or more Allium species in an amount of 1.4-140 g, calculated on the basis of fresh Allium product, per day. The Allium-derived material can e.g. be a hydrolysate of fresh onions. The compositions are useful for the treatment of pre- or postoperative conditions, cancers, cardiovascular and immune diseases. |
