<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition which causes no clogging and yields a printed matter excellent in light fastness and moisture resistance, an ink-jet recording method using the same and a record obtained through the method. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition contains at least water, at least one selected from the group consisting of a compound of formula 1 (wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; X is a phenyl group, a phenoxy group or a halogen atom; and n is an integer of 1-4) and its salt and at least one chosen from the group consisting of an aromatic compound having a carboxyl group and its salt as colorants.
