<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a filter by inhibiting a leakage current from running to AC power supply side, or to realize cost reduction by eliminating its use. <P>SOLUTION: In this power converter consisting of a PWM rectifier 6 and a PWM inverter 3, the PWM rectifier 6 uses, for example, a switch formed by connecting a diode and IGBT in series so as to have a full-bridge structure. Only during the period of the switch of the inverter being turned on and off, all the switches of the PWM rectifier 6 are turned off, so that the leakage current, obtained by turning on and off the switch of the PWM inverter 3, is prevented from running to the AC power supply 1 side, thus miniaturizing the filter, and realizing reduction in the size and the cost of the device as a whole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
