PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which simplifies a seal structure between a recording apparatus body and an ink cartridge and which can prevent a leakage of ink, and the ink cartridge for use in the same. SOLUTION: When the ink cartridge is mounted on the recording apparatus body, a coupling member 14 is brought into intimate contact with a case 10 in such a manner that a recess 14a faces an opening 10b, and an ink extraction member 15 is inserted into an elastic plug member 11 of a spout 9 through the recess 14a and the opening 10b. When positive-pressure air is supplied to the coupling member 14 from an air pump, a space between a bag body 8 and the storage case 10 is pressurized through the opening 10b and a cavity 12 on the outer periphery of the spout 9, and the ink in the bag body 8 is sent out to a recording head through the member 15. In this case, since equal pressure acts on both the bag-body 8 side and outer surface of the member 11 into which the member 15 is inserted, the leakage of the ink from the periphery of the member 15 is prevented.
