CLEANING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small sized and low cost cleaning device by which residual toner on the surface of an image carrier can be efficiently eliminated.

SOLUTION: A cleaning device 11 is provided with a conductive fur brush 37 coming in contact with a transfer belt 14, a conductive brush 42 coming in contact with the transfer belt 14 on a more upstream side of the feeding direction from the fur brush 37, and a single constant current power source 43. The fur brush 37 is connected to a constant current DC power source 43 and the conductive brush 42 is grounded. Current is caused to flow to the conductive brush 42 from the constant current DC power source 43 through the transfer belt 14.
