PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system which enables displaying of synchronous images without being disturbed even when synchronous words of digital video signals are omitted or the values of the synchronous words are modified in the electronic endoscope system equipped with an electronic endoscope unit which outputs the digital video signals by processing image signals from the electronic endoscope and a receiver which generates and outputs the video signals from the digital video signals outputted from the electronic endoscope unit. SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope system has the electronic endoscope unit which outputs the digital video signals by processing the image signals from the electronic endoscope and a receiver which outputs the video signals by processing the digital video signals outputted from the electronic endoscope unit. In the electronic endoscope system, the electronic endoscope unit outputs the digital video signals by processing the image signals from the electronic endoscope and the receiver processes the digital video signals outputted and outputs the video signals.
