PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to demonstrate so as to easily verify the effect of a hand-shake correcting function during its operation, without using a special apparatus for holding the photographing apparatus in a quasi-shaking state and without needing the cost or labor for an actual demonstration. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a means for switching the input to an operational means for calculating a shake correction signal to either a shake detection signal from a means for detecting a shake exerted on the photographing apparatus or a quasi-shake signal from a quasi-shake signal generating means, and control means (s403-s416) for controlling the switching of the input switching means according the operation mode of the photographing apparatus selected by an external operation between a hand-shake correction mode and a hand-shake demonstration mode.
