PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten pipe washing time by circulating refrigerant in a two gas-liquid phase (wet state) to increase refrigerant pipe washing performance. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises a foreign matter collecting container 40 connected to the suction side of a compressor 21 through an inflow pipe 42 and an outflow pipe 43. The outlet end of the inflow pipe 42 is positioned at the inside bottom part of the collecting container 40, and opened to the inside bottom part of the collecting container 40. On the other hand, the inlet end of the outflow pipe 43 is positioned at the inside upper part of the collecting container 40. Then, the refrigerant is circulated in a refrigerant circuit 10 so that the refrigerant in the two phase state in which liquid refrigerant is mixed with gas refrigerant flows in the collecting container 40 to collect foreign matter in the collecting container 40.
