PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of lowering the melting point or freezing point of an amide compound, and an amide compound-containing composition which enables handling at lower temperatures. SOLUTION: The method of lowering the melting point or freezing point of an amide compound comprises adding a compound having a polar group to at least one amide compound selected from the group consisting of an alkanolamide, an alkylamine, and an amidoamine which are derived from an 8-24C fatty acid.
