PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recycling the dry distillation residue of combustible waste containing metal pieces inexpensively and efficiently and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In the method for treating the dry distillation residue of the combustible waste, the waste containing the metal pieces is separated into a dry distillation gas and the dry distillation residue. After the metal pieces such as wire harnesses and metal blocks are removed from the residue, the residue is crushed and separated into heavy pieces mainly comprising metal components and light pieces mainly comprising char components.
